Internet Three-Card Poker Rules
Three-card poker is actually two
Internet poker games in one: Pair Plus and Ante & Play. The rules of both three-card poker games are easy to learn and, once you have learned them, you can have great fun playing Pair Plus, playing Ante & Play, or, for the most fun in the
Internet casino, playing both games together.
How to Play Pair Plus 3-Card Poker
Pair Plus is the simpler of the two
Internet 3-card poker games because you play solely against the pay table and not against the dealer. You just place your bet in the Pair Plus circle on the virtual poker table, click the Deal button, and receive your three cards.
If your 3-card poker hand contains a pair, you win the game and collect a 1-to-1 payout on your bet. The “Plus” in Pair Plus means the better hands pay even more: a flush pays 4-to-1, a straight pays 6-to-1, three of a kind pays 30-to-1, and a straight flush pays 40-to-1. As you can see, there are some very good payouts that can be won in this relatively simple
Internet casino game.
How to Play Ante & Play 3-Card Poker
The 3-card poker rules for the Ante & Play game are not difficult to learn, but they are slightly more complex because this is a competitive game against the dealer.
You start your Ante & Play game by placing a bet in the Ante circle and clicking the Deal button. You and the dealer will each receive three cards: yours are face up and his are face down. Then, after examining your cards, you must choose to fold or play. Deciding whether to fold or play is where your
Internet 3-card poker strategy comes into play.
If you fold, you lose your Ante bet and the game is over. If you play, an additional bet, equal to your Ante bet, is placed in the Play circle on the poker table. The dealer then turns his cards face up and the hands are compared to determine the 3-card poker winner. These are the results that can occur:
- The dealer needs at least a Queen-high hand to qualify. If the dealer fails to qualify, you win a 1-to-1 payout on your Ante bet and your Play bet is a “push” that is returned to you without winning or losing anything. This is automatic: the Internet 3-card poker rules say that if you play and the dealer doesn’t qualify, you win the Ante bet and push the Play bet regardless of whether your hand is better or worse than the dealer’s.
- If the dealer qualifies and your hand beats the dealer’s hand, you win a 1-to-1 payout on your Ante bet and a 1-to-1 payout on your Play bet.
- If the dealer qualifies and his hand beats yours, you lose both the Ante bet and the Play bet.
In addition, if you have one of the top poker hands, you will receive an Ante Bonus of 1-to-1 for a straight, 4-to-1 for three of a kind, and 5-to-1 for a straight flush. The Ante Bonus is awarded whenever you have one of these top hands, regardless of whether or not the dealer qualifies and regardless of whether or not your hand beats the dealer’s.
