Tips to Win At 3 Card PokerThree Card Poker is a straight forward game. Actually it is two games in one. Actually, it is two games with three ways to win! Now that that is out of the way, let's discuss a few tips that will help you become a better 3 Card Poker player.
Bluffing Internet Poker
If you are playing 3 Card Poker online, forget bluffing. Even in person, bluffing only works if you really know what you are doing. The best poker players even bluff bluffing! What does this mean? It means they have a really great hand, and pretend subtly that they have garbage. Then they pretend that even though they have nothing, they are going to bluff and pretend they have a great hand. Some players think "Well, he has a great hand so I better fold." Other players say "Well, he has nothing. He is bluffing. They stay in and meet his raises." Man, are they surprised.
In the online version, no one can see you. They can't read your little "tells" like scratching your nose or blinking your eyes. (All of us perform a tell subconsciously when we lie.) The trick is to discover what your tell is and stop yourself when you are bluffing. But, you can't bluff a computer.
Internet 3 Card Poker Tips
Treat each round as three games in one. In the Ante game, only raise if you have a pair of eights or higher. There is no shame in folding on a low hand. If the only other option is to throw money away on a long shot raise, then folding will save you cash in the long run.
Always raise when you have a pair of eights or higher. Occasionally the dealer will be able top beat it, but very rarely. By raising you will double your money on a win.
Play the Pair Plus 3 Card Poker game at least one-third and maybe one-half the time. If you never play it, you run the risk of squandering an easy victory on the times when you have a pair or better. On the other hand, if you always play pair plus, you will run through your cash much faster.
Play some other versions of poker to see what you like best. While three card poker is very popular (and growing more so every day). You should diversify and try your luck at games such as Texas Hold 'em and Seven Card Stud.
Always have fun while you play. If you are not having fun, take a break or try another game.
Tip for Managing Cash
Take a break every twenty minutes and evaluate your cash situation. Have you been winning? Have you been lowing? Are you up or down? How much cash do you have now compared to twenty minutes ago. Most importantly, ask yourself if you would be comfortable if you lost all your gains by continuing play. If the answer is "no," pocket your winnings and go celebrate with a nice cold glass of juice...or even something stronger!
