How to Play Internet Baccarat
Baccarat is a card game that is played between the "Player" and the "Banker." It is played with a single standard deck of 52 cards. Your goal is to predict which of the two hands will come closer to a total value of 9 — the highest hand in Internet baccarat.
Counting the Baccarat Cards
In most cases, the value of the baccarat cards is exactly what you would expect it to be. A 3 is worth three points, a 7 is worth seven points, and so on. But there are a couple of unusual baccarat rules that you need to be aware of.
First, aces are always worth 1 point, and 10s, jacks, queens, and kings are all worth 0 points.
In addition, when determining the total value of a hand, only the last digit is considered. A hand of 5 and 9 adds up to 14 and has a value of 4. A hand of 7 and King and has a value of 7. A hand of 8-2-Queen has a value of 0.
Since only the last digit counts, it follows that the highest possible value for an Internet baccarat hand is 9.
Playing Internet Baccarat
To play
Internet baccarat, you first use the Coin Selector buttons to choose the size of your bet. You then place your bet on either the Player, the Banker, or a Tie.
The Player and the Banker each receive two cards, face up. Sometimes, one or both of the hands will receive a third card. There is no free choice to hit or stand. Whether or not to deal a third card is determined according to the fixed baccarat rules and is applied automatically by the dealer in a land-based casino and by the software in an
Internet casino.
After the cards have been dealt, each hand is added up according to the rules for counting the baccarat cards, and the hand with the highest value is declared the winner.
Winning at Internet Baccarat
You win at Internet baccarat if you placed a bet on the hand that ends the game with the highest point value, or if you bet on a tie and the hands tied. Winning baccarat bets pay out as follows:
- If you bet on the Player and the Player wins, you receive a 1-to-1 payout on your bet. A winning €10 bet on the Player will win you an additional €10.
- If you bet on the Banker and the Banker wins, you receive a 1-to-1 payout on your bet but you must pay a 5 percent commission to the house. A winning €10 bet on the Banker will win you an additional €9.50.
- If you bet on Tie and the hands do tie, you receive an 8-to-1 payout on your bet. A winning €10 bet on Tie will win you an additional €80.
- If you did not bet on Tie and the hands tie, your bet is returned to you. You do not win or lose anything.
