Great Blackjack Strategy

When some people play blackjack, they sit down and nervously watch the cards. They seem to be afraid that every card will bring ruin and they have trouble making up their minds whether to stand or hit.

Other people always play with a confident smile. They watch the cards, but they also play in a relaxed style and will sometimes crack a joke, even while they are playing. They seem to always know whether to ask for another card or not. What is the difference? The difference is that some people play with a blackjack strategy while others just test their luck.

While playing with a strategy is not foolproof (after all, blackjack is a game of "chance"), you will feel more confident if you play with a strategy and stick to it. Which of the blackjack strategies you choose depends on what sort of a gambler you are.

Basic Blackjack Strategies

There are three basic blackjack strategies that people employ. The first, which we will call the risk-averse strategy, is for those who are naturally cautious. This strategy seeks to minimize the chances of going bust. The hope is not that your hand will be a few under twenty-one. The risk averse strategy seeks to win by holding firm and letting the dealer go bust. The strategy is that you call for cards only until you reach fifteen. After fifteen you hold and see what the dealer does. You can also take insurance to make your bet super conservative.

The middle of the road approach is similar, except you call for cards until you reach seventeen. Yes, there is a slightly higher danger that you will go bust. On the other hand, you have a greater margin of safety when the Dealer does not go bust. Once again, take the insurance bet against the dealer hitting blackjack. You will lower your overall take when you win, but you will also minimize losses and conserve your cash for the long haul.

Low Odds High Payout Strategy to Win Blackjack

The final strategy is the "Go for the Glory" strategy. When you play "Glory" you are playing the most aggressive game you can. You only hold at eighteen. That means that only an ace, two, or three will let you win. That is twelve cards out of fifty-two, provided none are already in use. While you may go bust a lot, you will end up with a lot more twenty-ones and beat the dealer in a tie. You can also play this way with a double down bet. Be warned. This strategy is not for everyone. This is really bare-knuckles gambling at its best. Only play "Glory" if you have nerves of iron and a stomach of steel.

At the end of the day, it comes down to your personality. Don't play a strategy that does not agree with your personality. If you want to play with confidence, you have to find a strategy that suits you and stick with it. If after really giving it a try, you find that it is just not working for you, then go ahead and switch. After all, the decision is yours.

Whether you play risk-averse, middle of the road, or "glory-bound", you can find great fun and thrills in the magical game of blackjack. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
