How to Play Online War

It may seem surprising that there was an online version of the card game War that you could bet on. After all, lots of people have played War all their life, but never won any money off of it. Yet today, there is exactly that. Online casinos now proudly offer this popular game. And if the masses of people who have played the card game are any indication, this casino game will soon be more popular than poker.

So if you want to play online War, also called Casino War, there are just a few things you need to know. To start out, you must choose a wager amount. There are two parts to this selection. First, decide how much you want a credit to equal. For example, you could set the value of a single credit at $3. After you do that, you can choose each round how many credits to bet. So if you choose to bet three credits after setting the value of a credit at $3, you will be wagering $9. Click on the increase and decrease buttons a few times until you get the hang of setting the bet.

After you have decided on your wager and clicked the appropriate buttons, you are now ready to play. You will be playing against an online dealer. The dealer is actually just a computer program so don't worry, he can't try and be sneaky. You will be dealt one card and the dealer deals himself (itself?) one card.

At this point, you must determine whose card is higher. Actually, the computer will indicate the higher card automatically, but it helps to know how cards are ranked.

In Casino War, the different suits have no meaning. Hearts, Clubs, Spades, and Diamonds are all equal. What is important is the value of the card. Cards with numbers are ranked according to the number. For example, six is higher than five, so a card with six on it would beat a card with a five on it. Above ten, the cards are ranked by traditional royal hierarchy, Jacks, then Queens, then Kings. Finally, Aces are always high. Ace is often referred to as the Grand Warlord because it will win almost every round.

Winning Casino War

If you win, you will be given an amount equal to your original bet. If you bet $10, you will have just won $10. Not bad, right? If you win a bunch of rounds in a row, you will be doing very well.

The ultimate high point of the game of Casino War was is when you and the dealers match cards. When that happens, you have two choices. First, you can surrender. This means that you keep half your original bet, lose half, and start a new round. Mostly people don't do this though. Would Napoleon ever have surrendered? How about Schwarzkopf?

Going to War

If you don't surrender, you go to War. This means that you place an additional bet equal to your original bet. If you had started with a $10 bet, you now have a $20 bet. You draw one more card. If you win the War, you win $10 on your original bet, and the extra bet is returned to you. If the dealer wins, you lose the bets. If you have another tie, you have another chance to either surrender or go to War. Bottom line is that this game is fun. Just like potato chips, it's hard to just play once!
