What is Keno?

Microgaming's online Keno is a computerized game in which you speculate which 20 of the 80 numbered balls will be drawn from the basket. You can guess up to 15 numbers. Players are paid based on the matches that they predict correctly.

Rules of How to Play Keno

In order to play, you must decide how much to bet by using the Chip Selector Increase and Decrease buttons. You may select up to 15 numbers on the Keno board. Left-click on the numbers on the Keno board to mark your bets.

Hit the "Play" button to watch the Keno balls get drawn. Twenty of the 80 numbers will be selected and you will see them get highlighted as they are picked. As soon as all balls are drawn, you will receive your payout according to the Payout Schedule.

Your win depends on the number of matches you make. The payout schedule is detailed below:

If you gamble on just 1 number, and win, you receive 3-times your chip wager.

If you bet on 2 numbers and both are drawn, you win 9-times your chips.

If you bet on 2 or 3 numbers and match 1, you will win your full betting amount.

If you select 3 numbers and they are all picked, you win 16-times your bet. If 2 of 3 are selected, you win twice your bet.

If you place bets on 4 to 9 numbers, and match 1, or place bets on 7 to 11 numbers and match 2, you win half your wager.

If you select 4 numbers, and get 2 matches, you win twice your bet. If you match 3 of 4, you win 6-times your bet. For 4 out of 4, you win 12-times your bet.

If you select 5 numbers, and 2 match, you win twice your bet. If 3 numbers match, you win 3-times your bet. For 4 matches, you win 15-times your bet. If all 5 numbers are drawn, you win 50-times your bet.

If you guess 6 numbers, and 3 match, you win twice your bet. If 4 match you win 3-times your bet. For 5, you win 30-times your bet. For 6 out of 6, you win 75-times your bet.

If you select 7 numbers, and 3 are picked, you win your full bet. If 4 out of 7 match, you win 6-times your wager. For 5 matches, you win 12-times your bet; and for 6, you win 36-times your bet. For 7 out of 7, you win 100-times your bet.

If you select 8 numbers, and 1 or 2 are picked, you win half your bet. If 3 are drawn, you win your bet. For 4 matches, you win 6-times your bet. For 5 out of 8, you win 6-times your bet; 6 out of 8, you win 19-times your bet. For 7 matches, you win 19-times your bet. If all 8 out of 8 are picked, you win 720-times your bet.

If you select 9 numbers and match 3, you win your betting amount. If you match 4 numbers you win twice your bet. For 5 matches you win 4-times your bet. If 6 of your numbers are picked, you win 8-times your bet. For 7 matches, you win 20-times your bet. For 8, you win 80-times your bet. If you match 9 out of 9, you win 1,200-times your bet.

If you select 10 or more numbers and get only 1 match, or if you speculate on more than 12 numbers and only 2 are selected, you do not win any chips.

If you select 10 numbers and 2 match the Keno drawing, you win half your bet. If 3 match, you win twice your wager. If 4 match, you win 4-times your bet. If 5 match, you win 3-times your bet. If 6 match, you win 5-times your wager. For 7 matches, you win 10-times your bet. If 8 of your numbers are picked you win 30-times your bet. If you guess 9 out of 10 correctly, you win 600-times your bet. If all 10 out of 10 match, you win 1,800-times your wager.

If you bet on 11 numbers and 2 are picked, you win half your bet. If 3 numbers match, you win the full betting amount. If you get 4 matches, you win twice your bet. For 5 matches you win 3-times your bet. If 6 match, you win 6-times your bet. If 7 match, you win 15-times your bet. If 8 of your numbers are picked you win 25-times your bet. If you select 12 numbers, and 3 are picked, you win half your betting amount. If 4 are picked, you win the full bet. If 5 of your numbers match, you win twice your bet. If 6 numbers match, you win 4-times your bet. If 7 numbers match, you win 24-times your bet. For 8 matches you win 72-times your bet. If 9 of your numbers are picked, you win 250-times your wager. If 10 of your 12 of your numbers are drawn, you win 500-times your bet. For 11 matches you win 2,000-times your bet, and if all 12 of your numbers are picked you win 4,000-times your wager.

If you bet on 13 numbers, and 3 or 4 of them are picked, you win half your bet. If 5 are picked, you win twice your bet. If 6 are picked you win 4-times your bet. If 7 of 13 are drawn you win 5-times your bet. If 8 are picked you win 20-times your bet. For 9 matches, you win 80-times your bet. If 10 are picked you win 240-times your bet. If 11 match, you win 500-times your bet. If 12 of 13 numbers are drawn, you win 3,000-times your bet, and if all 13 match, you win 6,000 -times your bet.

If you select 14 numbers, and 3 or 4 match, you win half your bet. If 5 of your numbers are picked, you win twice your bet. If you get 6 matches, you win 3-times your bet. If 7 of your numbers are picked, you win 5-times your bet. If eight of your numbers are drawn, you win 12-times your bet. For 9 matches you win 50-times your wager. For ten out of 14 or 15 numbers, you win 150-times your bet. For 11 out of 14 you win 500-times your bet. For 12 out of 14, you win 1,000-times your bet, and for 13 you win 2,000-times your wager. If you match 14 out of 14 you win 7,500-times your bet.

If you bet on 15 numbers, and 3 or 4 match, you win half your bet. If 5 out of 15 match, you win your full bet. If 6 match, you win twice your bet. If 7 of your numbers are picked, you win 5-times your bet. If you get 8 matches, you win 15-times your bet. If you get 9, you win 50-times your wager. If 10 out of 15 of your numbers are picked, you win 150-times your bet. If 11 match, you win 300-times your bet. For 12 matches, you win 600 times your bet. If 13 out of 15 numbers are picked, you win 1,200-times your bet; and if 14 of 15 are drawn, you win 2,500-times your wager. If you bet on 15 numbers and all of them match, you win a massive amount of chips, equal to 10,000-times your bet.

How to Win at Keno

Since your profits in Keno are based on probability, and you can pick up to 15 numbers in any given game, you can win the most by guessing on 15 numbers and having all of them match. However, if you get only a few matches, you will do better if you initially only guessed on a small quantity of numbers. For example, if you wager on 3 numbers, and match all 3, you win 16-times your bet, but if you get 3 out of 15 guesses, you win only half your bet.

Definitions & Terms for Keno

Keno board- Each Keno game uses a computer screen, which serves as a large board on which you place your bets, and the numbers drawn are highlighted.

Chip Selector - These buttons allow you to increase or decrease your bet of chips before each game.

Payout Schedule - For each Keno game, you receive a chart that indicates how the winnings are calculated. A column on the left shows the number of matches you could have in each game. The row across the top indicates the number of wagers you placed. Cross-referencing this table shows you how much you would win, depending on how many numbers you pick and how many numbers match.
