What is Poker Ride?

A quick and easy version of online poker that gives you two separate chances to win in every deal. You can either hit a winning poker combination with your cards, or you could win the enormous progressive jackpot if you hit the elusive Royal Flush.

How to Play Poker

The Rules of Poker Ride

Poker Ride is played with a simple 52 card deck. In the beginning, you can place two wagers. The amount of the first wager is up to you and you are betting that you will end up with a winning poker combination of cards after the final deal. At the same time, you can place a one credit bet with the progressive jackpot. This is an independent bet from your regular hand. Players all around the world are placing side bets on the progressive jackpot. If you hit a Royal Flush (Ten, Jack, Queen, King, and Ace of the same suit), you win the entire jackpot.

Betting in Poker Ride

So after you place your initial bet (and your progressive jackpot bet if you want to shoot for the big money), you are dealt three cards and two cards remain with the dealer. At this point, you can either "call" for another card or "raise" the bet and get another card. If you don't think you will have a winning combination, just call. It doesn't cost you any money and your hand can only be improved. On the other hand, if your three card hand is already looking promising, and you are feeling lucky, then you should "raise." That means you can add to the amount you initially bet. (You cannot raise the progressive jackpot side bet. Once you have made that bet, it rides until you get your fifth and final card.

At this point, regardless of whether you called or raised, you now have four cards. Once again, you can call or raise. If you call on the first round and then receive a fourth card that looks good, you can now raise your bet. Once again, you will receive another card. This is your fifth and final card. The computer determines if you have a winning combination in your five card hand and then pays you out depending on which combination you have. The rarer combinations will pay you much more. At this point also, if you have hit the progressive jackpot with a Royal flush, you will be paid out whatever the current progressive amount is. (There is a rather large minimum payout. Bottom line, if you get a Royal Flush and you had placed the jackpot side bet, you will be very happy.)

How to Win At Poker Ride

You can win the most by hitting certain combinations. A Royal Flush is the best one. It consists of the following cards of the same suit: Ace, King, Queen, Jack and Ten. While this is very rare, when you hit it, you win big. How big? You win 1,000 times what you bet. If you bet $1 and then raised twice, you could win $3,000. Of course this will be just "pocket change" if you had placed a side bet on the progressive jackpot. The progressive jackpot can be worth thousands and thousands of dollars, depending on how many people have played world-wide since the last time the jackpot was won.

The next best combination is a Straight Flush. This is a combination of five cards of the same suit in sequence. Like 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 of Hearts. This combination will pay you 200 coins for every one you bet. If you bet $1 and then raised twice, you could win $600.

After these, the best combination is a Four of a Kind, which is simply four cards of the same denomination, like Hearts. This combination will pay you 50 coins for every one you bet. If you bet $1 and then raised twice, you could win $150.

Next in order is a combination of three cards of the same denomination, and two cards of another denomination, called a Full House. This combination will pay you 12 coins for every one you bet. If you bet $1 and then raised twice, you could win $36.

Next comes a combination of five cards of the same suit, is called a Flush. This combination will pay you 9 coins for every one you bet. If you bet $1 and then raised twice, you could win $27. Then a simple Straight -- a combination of five cards of any suit in sequence. This combination will pay you 6 coins for every one you bet. If you bet $1 and then raised twice, you could win $18.

After a Straight, we have Three of a Kind: three cards of the same denomination, and any two other cards. This will pay you $4 for every one bet. Followed by Two Pairs: a combination of two denominative pairs and any other card. This will pay you $3 for every one bet

The last winning combination is either a pair of 10's, Jacks, Queens, Kings or Aces, and three unmatched cards, paying out at $2 for every one bet, doubles your money.
