How to Play Roulette - An Easy Tutorial

Roulette seems like a very complicated game, but internet Roulette, brought to you by Microgaming and First Web Internet Casino, is actually easy to learn and fun to play. Whether you are gambling for real money, or just playing Roulette for fun, you'll find that this classic casino game has something for everyone, and can be as simple or as complicated as you make it.

Different Types of Roulette

European and French Roulette have a Roulette wheel with 37 pockets, numbered from 0 to 36. American Roulette has both a 0 and a 00, for a total of 38 pockets. Roulette Royale, the online internet progressive Roulette game, is based on European Roulette.

Betting in Roulette

The trick to Roulette is understanding how the betting works. In Roulette, unlike other casino games, you can make many different types of bets. You can bet on a single number, you can bet on a combination of numbers, you can bet on evens or odds, or you can bet on red or black. Each bet has different odds and payouts. The Roulette Rules and Terms section below lists all of the different Roulette bets you can make.

  • Roulette Inside Bets

Inside bets are betting on any number on the table.

  • Roulette Outside Bets

Outside best are placing bets on the outside of the Roulette table.

  • In European Roulette and French Roulette, the Outside Bets are broken down into
    Dozen Bets - placed on 12/36 possibilities (e.g. 19-36) - Here you can bet on the first 12 (1-12), second 12 (13-24), or third 12 (25-36).
Even-Money Bets - placed on 18/36 possibilities (e.g. Red) - The Even-Money Bets are odds, evens, red, black, first 18 (1-18), or last 18 (19-36)

  • In French Roulette, there are also Call Bets, which can be bet using the Call Bet Function. There are many different types of call bets, ranging from a Les Voisins Du Zero, where you place 9 chips on 2-3 numbers to the Finales a Cheval bets where 4-6 chips are placed on single numbers or pairs.

A Little More about the Progressive Roulette Royale Game

Roulette Royale is based on European Roulette. The progressive jackpot grows and changes with the betting done by players all over, and the current value you can win is displayed during the game. In progressive Roulette Royale, a side bet of one credit is placed by default when you enter the game. The side bet makes you eligible for additional payouts, including the Progressive Jackpot. The side bet amount is added to your bet amount. Here's how you win progressive Roulette: If you get two or more of the same numbers in a row, you are paid a Jackpot Bet amount. The amount is based on the Jackpot Bet Payout Schedule. If you get the same number five times in a row, you win the Progressive Jackpot. Or try flash roulette games.
