Rules of How to Play Vegas Craps
The basic idea of Craps is this: two dice are rolled by the "Shooter" and you bet on what you think will happen.
The first phase of the game is the "coming out" phase.
The first roll is the "come out roll". If you bet "Pass" and roll a 7 or an 11, you win. If you bet "Don't Pass" and roll a 2 or a 12, you win. Either way, if a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 is rolled, this number becomes the "point". The idea is then to roll the same number again before rolling a 7.
After the Pass or Don't Pass bet, there is the "Come" or "Don't Come" bet. They are the same as the Pass and Don't Pass bets, bet are made after the first roll.
The second Phase of the game is the "point" phase. One a point is made, then you can place an odds bet on whether you think the Shooter is going to make the point (roll the same number again) or not make the point.
If you make a "place to win" bet, you are betting the point will be made before a 7 is rolled.
If you make a "place to lose" bet, you are betting a 7 will be rolled before the point is made.
Use "Place to Win" bets and "Place to Lose" bets to bet on whether you think the point will be made or not.

Dice Odds
The odds for any given roll are simple to calculate. Rolling two dice, there are 36 possible combinations, each one adding up to a number between 2 (1+1) and 12 (6+6); the odds are calculated based on how many different rolls add up to each number:
1+1=2 and 6+6=12so the odds of rolling a 2 or a 12 are 1/36
1+2=3 or 2+1=3, 5+6=11 or 6+5=11so the odds of rolling a 3 or an 11 are 2/36 = 1/18
1+3=4, 3+1=4, 2+2=4odds of a 4 are 3/36 = 1/12
1+4=5, 4+1=5, 2+3=5, 3+2=5odds of a 5 are 4/36 = 1/9
etc.
The odds of rolling a 7 are 1/6.
How to Win at Vegas Craps
Winning Craps is based on the bet you make.
If you have a Pass Line bet, you win even money if a 7 or 11 is rolled, but lose the bet if a 2, 3 or 12 is rolled. Once the point number is established, if it is rolled again you will win even money. You lose the bet if a 7 turns up before the point.
Check the odds table in the Help section of the game for details on true odds and payouts. Note that Buy and Lay bets are paid at true odds less a 5% commission. The commission is only charged on winning bets.
